The best creative library is not the largest. It is the one a team can search, understand, and use without reconstructing old context.
Give collections a job
Create collections around active briefs, markets, funnel stages, or recurring research questions. Archive completed project collections while keeping reusable strategic patterns searchable.
Use a controlled tag vocabulary
Agree on a small set of tags for format, hook type, proof type, audience, offer, and funnel stage. Review the vocabulary monthly and merge duplicates.
Write decision-ready notes
Capture the observation and its implication: “The first three seconds state the audience problem; test a similarly direct opening with our own proof.” Avoid vague notes such as “good ad.”
Keep original sources attached
Source links make research auditable and help reviewers distinguish a current observation from an outdated reference.
Schedule maintenance
Remove broken references, merge duplicate tags, and promote the most useful observations into briefs or templates. A light monthly cleanup protects the value of the library.
